1988 Mercedes-Benz S-Class 420SEL

This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 420SEL (W126 chassis) was initially sold and registered in Michigan; I purchased it from the first owners in 2024. The car is finished in Midnight Blue over Beige Leather (265) and powered by a 4.2-liter M116 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include heated electrically-adjustable front seats, a sunroof, automatic climate control, an aftermarket head unit with single-disc CD player, 4-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ silver Gullideckel wheels with new Toyo Celsius II tires purchased spring 2025 combined with an alignment service. Complete service documentation accompanies the car and I prepared a spreadsheet organizing every service performed by the original owners. During Fall 2024, about $6,000 was spent on services including an A/C service, replacing the complete fuel system including fuel pump, fittings and lines, and a front suspension refresh including new tie rod assemblies, new lower ball joints, new bushings, and a center drag link. I also replaced the chrome hood star with a new OEM one to replace the pitted original and replaced the rubber power antenna body grommet. Other items include the original window sticker, brochures and manuals, an original first aid kit, and a factory tool kit and full size spare in the trunk.
